We didn't buy this on Amazon but I'm so frustrated with this coffee maker that I had to write a review and save someone else the frustration. As other reviews have noted - the mess is most annoying. Water drips from the pot and the coffee maker every time you fill it up. Could have lived with that as I found that if you take your time the spillage is not too bad. Bought this in November and in early December we had the same problem someone else noted that the pot would stop brewing and would just steam away with no coffee being made after a few cups. I had no idea what the problem was but it makes sense that the pump died. I'm now searching for a new coffee maker and have no clue what to buy... our Mr. Coffee died earlier (started leaking out of the base). If you have any suggestions... would love to hear.

Plan on using one paper towel every time you fill the reservoir, and every time you pour a cup of coffee. Pour fast or slow- it's going to dribble off the pot onto your counter. I can't believe stores still sell this thing. It fails at it's singular purpose. Starting your mornings with little puddles everywhere is not good for the mood.

Our absolutley beloved Krups 867 died after 10 years, and can no longer be replaced. First we went out and spent $280 on another machine thinking it would be on par with the Krups, only to return it a few weeks later, frustrated. We bought this Giada maker at Target, not expecting much but liking the look. Actually this has been a very nice machine for us - it is easy to use, easy to clean and has a pleasant look. It is not the quality of brew that we got from our higher end machine, but we are happy and not looking for a replacement any time soon. Don't hesitate.
